Xi'an

The easternmost point of the Silk Road is the city of Xi'an. Its name means "western peace" in Chinese, and this area of China was the capital of the Chinese empire for a long time. The nearby tomb of Qin Shi Huang (the first emperor of unified China, who ruled 221 BCE to 210 BCE) is one of the most famous marvels of the ancient world.
